Student engagement: EEIGM program presentation

From November 13 to 15, 2024, we welcomed the coordination team of the European School of Materials EEIGM at the Montanuniversität Leoben. As a major member of the EEIGM consortium and partner within the EURECA Pro alliance, it was our pleasure to organize this visit. It provided a valuable opportunity to deepen our close cooperation, to highlight academic perspectives and to underline the importance of international mobility for the future of materials science.

Student engagement: EEIGM program presentation
On Thursday, November 14, we had the opportunity to present the EEIGM program to our first-year bachelor's students majoring in materials science together with the MUL coordinator, Prof. Raul Bermejo. This presentation provided a comprehensive overview of the diverse academic pathways and opportunities offered by the EEIGM consortium. The students gained valuable insights into studying abroad and the international and professional perspectives that the program offers. A subsequent discussion round allowed questions from the students to be answered and further details to be explored.

Promoting young talent: info day for school students
On Friday, November 15th, the delegation from Nancy actively participated in the open day at Montanuniversität Leoben. Together with the MUL team, the participants were introduced to the world of materials science and the unique advantages of an international education. This day offered us the opportunity to inspire future engineers and get them excited about studying with an international focus.

Strengthening partnerships: meeting with the rector
Another highlight of the visit was the meeting with our rector, Peter Moser. In the presence of students currently studying at Montanuniversität Leoben as part of the EEIGM program, we celebrated recent successes and exchanged ideas for future projects. This conversation underscored the shared vision of innovation and collaboration that characterizes our partnership and reaffirmed a commitment to providing students with unique opportunities in materials science.
