Young talent honored: POLYMER SCIENCE SCHOOL AWARD 2024

In 2024, the POLYMER SCIENCE SCHOOL AWARD once again provided a stage for students to present their innovative work in the field of polymer engineering and science. The best submissions were honored with prize money of up to €2,500.

1st place: Hellena Rindler impressed with her work on total hip replacement. She modeled prostheses with MicroStation and showed the potential of 3D printing to develop customized medical solutions. to the video clip

2nd place: Florian Gaisberger & Alexander Eggetsberger developed a concept for a cost-effective 3D printing recycling system. The aim is to produce a prototype with instructions for less than €2,000. Watch the video clip

3rd place: Izaura Wong & Christoph Dillinger examined flocculation agents to improve sedimentation times in waste treatment plants. PAA showed the highest efficiency and cost-effectiveness. watch the video clip

The award highlights the innovative strength of young talent. It has been awarded together with the Polymer Competence Center Leoben since and supports innovative research by young scientists! Next round: 2025! More information: POLYMER SCIENCE SCHOOL AWARD
