ZAB, Zentrum am Berg

Montanuniversität Leoben operates an independent research infrastructure for the construction and operation of underground facilities that is unique in Europe in the form of the Zentrum am Berg on the Styrian Erzberg. This facility enables research institutions, companies and organisations to carry out research, tests and training for road and rail infrastructure, aerodynamic issues, safety in underground mining and material development under real-life conditions on a 1:1 scale.

CD-Labors, Christian Doppler Labors

The Christian Doppler Research Association (CDG) promotes co-operation between science and industry in specially established research units, the Christian Doppler Laboratories. These units enable close co-operation between universities and industrial companies in order to develop innovative technologies and solutions.

COMET Projekte, Competence Centers for Excellent Technologies

The COMET competence centres conduct application-oriented cutting-edge research in strategically important areas for the economy, such as climate protection, digitalisation, mobility and health. They are financed by the Republic of Austria, the federal states, companies and research organisations and managed by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG).
